Adolescence is one of the most dynamic stages of human development. Accompanied by dramatic physical, social, emotional and cognitive changes, this stage of life is a great opportunity for health professionals, parents and teachers to support youth.
Although adolescents are usually healthy, the choices they make and habits they develop can have a profound influence on their future risk and health. In addition to needing access to medically accurate information about wellness and risky behavior (such as smoking, alcohol and drug use, and sex), teens need relationships with adults and self-confidence that they can meet the adult challenges they will face.
