The FDA has approved the inhaled corticosteroid/beta2-agonist combination drug mometasone furoate and formoterol fumarate dihydrate (DULERA) for the treatment of asthma in patients 12 and older.Drug approval was based on safety efficacy data from three phase III trials (with a total of 1,913 patients) which tested short- and long-term effects of treatment.
