Happy Tuesday party people! I arrived in Los Angeles last night for a work meeting…a meeting that will be lasting all week long. It’s all for very exciting reasons that I can’t disclose because I can’t talk about my work in detail on my blog, per our legal department, but let’s just say that there’s some exciting things going on in the world of Type 2 diabetes management.

Since I’m LA, cooped up in hotel conference rooms trying to learn about 1,000 pages of scientific material, my blog posts (e.g. my non-paying gig) will be pretty light this week. I’ll be posting several pictures this week that I’ve been meaning to put on the blog. They each capture a “diabetes moment” that was too funny not to snap a photo of. Starting with this one:

You know you got visited by the Low Blood Sugar Fairy in the middle of the night when you wake up the next morning, stumble to the kitchen and notice a frosting-covered fork on the counter from the night before that you baaaaarely remember using. Visits from the Low Fairy late at night, by the way, can often result in some bizarre evidence the next morning including but not limited to: half-empty orange juice cartons in the cupboard (not the fridge where they should be), one entire sleeve of Oreos demolished, crumbs abounding, and/or one-fourth of a birthday cake missing. Not that I’ve ever done any of those things…..

Ha, missing birthday cake sounds familiar to me! Overbolused for birthday cake, woke up low, ate way more birthday cake…and assumed that my roommate got into it overnight! Took me a little while to put the pieces together!
