Pulmonology

Pulmonology (also called pneumology, chest medicine and respiratory medicine) is the area of medicine that focuses on the lungs and respiratory system (also called the pulmonary system). Pulmonologists are typically the physicians who work within this specialty to diagnose and treat all related disorders, though cardiothoracic surgeons perform more specialized surgery, and physicians in intensive care may work with more serious and acute problems calling for mechanical ventilation. The Pulmonology portal collects and indexes all of the contributors and content in these areas, with topics including everything from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome to Cystic Fibrosis, Pleurisy, and Tuberculosis.

Portals organize content on Medpedia by topic. Find Articles to edit, create missing Articles and earn points, and find active Contributors with this interest or expertise. See how you can get recognized for your contributions.
