Does drinking alcohol increase the symptoms of allergic asthma?

The NY Times recently ran a feature about how drinking alcohol increases allergy and asthma symptoms- http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/20/health/20real.html. Should women with asthma and/or allergies stop drinking?

    Dont know about the NYT article to which the above answer "referenced" but by deffinition, allergic ANYTHING is a fuction of an intact immune system. Alcohol does not affect its response.

    I actually did some extensive research on this topic recently. I did so partly because I have asthma that does seem to be somewhat responsive to alcohol, and in part because I wanted to write about it.
