There are two identified rare disorders that may apply to your daughters condition. We usually start searching within the Orphanet database which is one that we believe to be the most comprehensive - please head to the following site by following this link. http://www.orpha.net/consor/cgi-bin/Disease_Search_Simple.php?lng=EN&diseaseGroup=jackson+syndrome

Most medical schools are out of the habit of referring to conditions named after "people" as it leads to confusion and there is no universal understanding of which condition to which a person refers. Here are the names of syndromes that have been classified under "Jackson Syndrome"

    Jackson-MacKenzie syndrome
    Jackson's cerebellar syndrome
    Vaughan-Jackson Syndrome
    Jackson-Weiss syndrome
    Michael Jackson syndrome
    Hughlings-Jackson syndrome

Each is different from the other, however, Dorland’s Medical Dictionary defines "Jackson syndrome" (jak´sәn) as a paralysis of structures innervated by the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth cranial nerves, including the soft palate, larynx, half of the tongue, and the sternomastoid and trapezius muscles.
