I had an ultrasound done and my doctor said I have a bubble on the outside of my liver. What is that?

I had lung cancer in 2006, they removed my upper left lobe and went through chemo. I have been cancer free for 4 years. I had a CAT scan done and it showed something on my liver. Then I had a ultrasound done, and they said I have a bubble on the outside of my liver. The doctor does not seem to be concerned, but I am wondering why it's there and could it become a problem?

Your doctor may not "seem to be concerned" because your doctor has an idea what the ultrasound is showing. You are concerned because you don't know what a "bubble" means or its significance for you. What is necessary is for you to return to your doctor and have your doctor explain what is meant by a "bubble" and what importance your doctor puts on it. With regard to findings and their significance that refer to your medical condition should not have to be guessed or assumed by you. You shouldn't have to guess or ask strangers on Medpedia. Just ask your doctor to explain. ..Maurice.
