I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a stress fracture, though I'm sure there are many other possibilities. I went to my doctor and had some X-Rays done to get the proper diagnosis.

t can also be raynauds syndrome. If you already have an autoimmune disease this is a "symptom" associated with it where the blood vessels in the feet (soles and heals) and/or hands (palms) become numb and/or cold. It doesn't always affect all the hands and feet, for me its just one foot ~ the one I tend to lean on when I'm standing. Does putting your foot up for a while lesson the discomfort?

Another option for diagnostic possibilities is a foreign body which is festering. This is one of the most frustrating things that ER doctors see, because often the foreign body is radiolucent, meaning it won't show up on xray. It does appear you need to have this evaluated by your physician.

Consult your Family Practice physician and ask him or her about whether they would recommend Neuromuscular Therapy massage. Ask your doctor if certain work related movements or repetitive motion in sports and other activities may impact nerves that may contribute to your foot pain. Ask your physician if your foot pain may be a result of scoliosis in your spine. Get her opinion if decreased circulation down your legs to your feet may contribute to cause of pain. Ask your physical Therapist if pain can be related or activity or working out at the gym without warm up exercises. On a case by case basis my Neuromuscular Therapy has increased circulation to clients legs and feet for relief. My web site is www.goldentouchtherapy.com. Gene Metcalf NMT, LMT Encinitas, CA
