    It can be normal to have minor discharge from nipples, but any discharge should be evaluated by your physician to rule out malignancy and other concerning causes of discharge.

    Anything unusual with your breasts should be checked out. Discharge from the nipples can be abnormal, as you say, so go to a doctor as soon as possible to check it out. It may be nothing, but it's good to get that reassurance from a doctor.

    Several things as mentioned, and this should be evaluated promptly. Prolactin, a hormone that is normally circulating in all folks and which is necessary for breast milk production, can lead to nipple discharge if elevated outside of pregnancy. This can occur due to medications (psychiatric medications are notorious), and tumors of the pituitary gland or near by it.
