    No, it is just a scar from where the umbilical cord used to be attached to us.

    BUT... if you look at two identical twins, their navels will be slightly different. This is because it is a scar, and genetics had nothing to do with its shape, only how their bodies healed.

    it is just a scar.But it is an important landmark on the abdomen.
