I'm not a physician, but I had the procedure done about 6 years ago, and it was fine. I remember there being a lot of people in the room, and the room itself looked a little intimidating with all the equipment, but after they gave me little versed and some ativan, I was totally mellow and didn't feel a thing. In my case they put a silicone plug in my leg artery which was sore for about a day, but that was it.

I suppose the most stressful thing about having it done, is not knowing what they might find. On the other hand, it's kinda reassuring to know that if they do find something, they can usually take care of it right then and there.
