If you are able to bring your cholesterol down with more natural methods like diet and exercise, that is not only safe, but will improve your overall health. Optimizing your vitamin D level is important, because extensive muscle damage has been associated with decreased levels of vitamin D.

    Most physicians feel these drugs have great utility in a large range of patients. I feel they have less utility than once understood.

    You must evaluate the pros and cons of taking this medication with your physician.
