My experience tells me that problems with gait and equilibrium are usually linked with ear problems - such as spontaneous viral deafness, viral postural vertigo, and Meniere's disease.

Problems with gait, balance and memory are symptoms that should be evaluated by a physician, especially if the individual is under 50 and/or the symptoms have come on quickly. Please consult your doctor.

I agree that you would need to see a doctor for problems with gait and equilibrium. So many things can cause problems in this arena. For example, even certain prescription drugs can cause dizziness. There are many variables in determining the cause of gait and balance problems, so seeing a doctor is the wise thing to do.

I would see your doctor ASAP if you are experiencing symptoms with your gait combined with memory loss. This could be a very early sign of a serious neurological issue.
