Yes, I could possibly be your diet. Depending on the type of diet you are currently using, check for different assortments that may cause a gastro-excretion yet bloating can be caused by many different things such as menstral cycle, digestion, ect.

from diet milk intollerence is very frequent cause. Secondary reflex gastritis from colonoic infection like amoebiasis is also important. GERD, fat indigestion from biliary problem,Congenital harnia like hiatus harnia, delayed empting from gastric outlet obstruction and in latter age [adolescence] IBS are the causes.

Common causes of bloating in women are poor digestive function, parasites, food sensitivities, IBS, PMS, and bloating foods. Bananas, prunes, legumes, cabbage, beans, raisins, dairy products for lactose-intolerant people, high fiber foods, and chocolate can cause bloating. Being constipated can cause bloating. Pregnant women often suffer from bloating.

I hate to be "picky" about the use of the word "bloating" but like many other words patients tell their doctors as their symptom, those words have to be explained by the patient to be of value to make a diagnosis. The symptoms such a "dizziness" can represent different sensations or impairments such as true vertigo, feeling of about to faint, instability standing or walking due to impaired sensation from the legs or anxiety conditions as examples. "Constipation" is a relative symptom and the doctor must try to detail the symptom from the patient to know whether it means hard stool or frequency of bowel movements and whether the frequency is unusual or abnormal.

May I be a bit more "picky"? The adjective "constant" needs to be explained since "constant" could mean continuous (never going away) or a repeatedly intermittent symptom that doesn't stop.
If, it is intermittent but ongoing then it is important to know what gives temporary relief. Is it a bowel movement or passing gas?

What I am getting at is that all the suggestions given in the previous responses are of importance as causes of digestive distress but "bloating" could also be used as a patient's expression of a distended abdomen due to fluid in the abdomen and there could be many other different causes for that to occur.

Why am I "picky"? I suppose it is that I am a doctor and a teacher of medical students about how to get a history to help make a diagnosis. ..Maurice.

Thank you all very much.by bloating I mean feeling of stomach swollen and being uncomfortable until I pass gas or use the toilet.it makes my stomach feel heavy and hurts if I don't pass gas or bowel movement.and what I mean by constant is that I could have it for 3-4 days a week 3 weeks in a month.I've had an full abdominal scan done but nothing was apparently found.when my period is about to come, during and just after I get the same discomfort, but it doesn't explain all the other times.

Your symptoms as described now sound like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or lactose intolerance (if you drink milk) but you should continue to consult with your physician regarding followup and management. ..Maurice.

I also think this is IBS. But some mental factors should also be considered. You should have a consultation with a good psychological counselor.

I would like to suggest another possible and common cause of bloating that affects many more people than most would like to think which is gluten intolerance and/or celiac disease
