The FDA and EMA have recently approved a new antibiotic to specifically treat nosocomial pneumonia caused by suspected MRSA infection. This is Vibative (Telavancin, Astellas, Theravance) and is the 3 approved antibiotic to treat MRSA infections after Vancomycin and Linozid. Several other drugs are in development and R&D stage.
