Is there a connection between aspergers syndrome and insomnia?

I was informally diagnosed (through diagnosis of my child) approximately 7 years ago with aspergers syndrome. I've had difficulty sleeping through the night for several years, although approximately years ago a neurologist put me on 50 mg Pamelor, 1 per day, to be taken before bed. The pamelor works, but I don't like the photosensitivity aspect of it and would like to attempt a non-chemical (or perhaps a different chemical) solution.

It's not so much a connection to asperger's per se as it may be to neurotransmitter or adrenal deficits, that may be common or co-morbid with asperger's diagnosis. These can be nutritionally replenished.
