    The FDA approved rituximab (Rituxan, Genentech and Biogen-Idec) in early 2006 for use in the first‑line treatment of patients with diffuse large B-cell, CD20‑positive, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in combination with CHOP or other anthracycline‑based chemotherapy regimens. The drug increased Overall Survival and progression free survival in treated patients in 3 phase III trials in over 1800 patients over standard chemo. There are several other new drugs in testing phase.
