It depends. There is no clear answer other than yes, you can, but it is rare. My wife received the vaccine. Then, last year, a coworker had a shingles outbreak and never notified her employer and carried on as usual at work. My wife who works closely with this person came down with chickenpox. Yea, that was a great experience! If you have never had the chickenpox vaccine, you will probably end up with chickenpox in the short term, and, possibly suffer outbreaks of shingles later in life. It's important to note that if you have an active case of shingles you probably shouldn't be going to work as you are infectious.
