What is your recommendation for the patient?

A 78 year old male was admitted to the hospital with severe respiratory distress and chest pains. Immunologic testing results showed elevated AAT and CRP levels; later elevated fibrinogen levels. An interview from the patient’s wife revealed that he also is hypertensive, suffers from a chronic cough and is a chain smoker.

My recommendation would be to make sure a internist/cardiologist/doctor examines the results of all tests and gives you a diagnosis and a treatment plan.
You than have to make sure the patient follows these recommendations.
Lastly, get him to stop smoking, there are some very effective methods out there now to accomplish this.
