Sleep talking tends to be common and harmless, especially among children. It may be associated with other conditions such as other sleep disorders (sleep -walking and sleep terrors), sleep apnea, medical conditions, sedatives, hypnotics, anti-histamines ,substance use /abuse such as alcohol use, and sleep deprivation.

A sleep diary needs to be kept to wrte down your sleep pattern, what is said, how loud, your awarensess, duration, urinary incontinence, foods eaten during this period, injuries and who is affected by your talking, and if you can recall what is said.

Anxiety, Depression or other mental conditions such as stress disorders can affect your sleep.
Seeing that this sleep talking is causing a problem, a speech specialist may be recommended or a mental health professinal to rule out any mental health problems such as stress

Hypnosis, meditation, relaxation therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, behavior modification and counselling may reduce anxiety.

Also keep a diary on how your quality of life during the day at work, with relatives and friends, the time of day when you are tired or fatigue and the time of day when you take naps - the duration and if the naps make you feel better.
