answered Feb 02, 2010 at 07:03AMNovartis' Galvus (vildagliptin) is a member of a new class of oral antidiabetic agents. Its mode of action is different from established antidiabetic medications and appears to include disease-modifying effects in patients with type 2 diabetes. Novartis withdrew its application to the FDA in July 2008.
