74 kg is not heavy; how tall are you? Portion control. Increase your intake of dietary fiber. Drink water not soda pop. Make changes sustainable. Aim for 1 lbs loss / week or less. Take it slow, make small changes. Maintain a balanced diet. Exercise daily for about 30 min. Again make small sustainable changes in your routine and diet.

I agree with Greg. The important thing is to change one's way of thinking; instead of thinking of such life changes as a diet and a temporary fix, view them as lifestyle changes and embrace them as your way of life....forever.

Weight loss is a multi-billion dollar industry, partially because individuals are willing to spend billions to lose weight. There is no one solution that fits all individuals but there are some consistencies among nutritional consultants.

IF YOU EAT MORE CALORIES THAN YOU BURN OFF, YOU WILL STORE THE EXCESS as FAT.

If you TRULY want to lose weight, you must commit to a lifestye change of eating less, moving (EXERCISE) more. You must know what you are putting into your body and know what kinds of foods are healthy for you. AVOID gimmicks and weight loss products that claim to do the work for you. YOU have to do the work, take the responsibilty and be responsible everyday.

Weight gain and weight loss are behavioral issues as much as they are dietary issues. They are also cultural issues. Animals in the wild, never have obesity issues. Domestic animals many times do because humans feed them too much and exercise them too little.

You can make it simple, but it is not easy. It requires WORK, lots of work.
