Is there any medicine or food to make eating more appetizing when you're sick?

I have had a cold for a couple days and nothing tastes good. Is there any type of food that will taste good even when one has a cold? Is there any medicine to help make food more appetizing when you're sick?

Unfortunately the short answer to your question is no. Taste alterations occurs for several reasons, not only due to suppression of appetite but also loss of olfactory function (smell!) While there are medication that may be helpful for patients in whom chronic disease (cancer or chronic infection), this is not appropriate for self-limited colds or flu.

Cannabinoid-containing medications are useful in managing some types of anorexia, nausea, and weight loss (http://pubmed.gov/18414712). Marijuana is the best-known way to deliver cannabinoids and is famous for making food more appetizing.
