Are there people who have seizures as an allergic reaction to Albuterol?

My daughter was given a breathing treatment after we told them she had a reaction to an inhaler, the doctor didn't pay attention to us. She went into seizure(s) within 1 min. of starting treatment and was in the hospital for 1 week with pseudo-seizures & has weakness in her legs. Two weeks now and still has weakness in legs, fatigue, and lack of concentration. Seems to have affected the nerves and muscles, though doctors say this isn't normal. Had similar reaction 3 yrs ago with an inhaler and doctors discounted reaction then as not possible. Took 1 1/2 months to return to normal. She does NOT have Asthma. She does have Glaucoma, takes eye drops for pressure control.

There are several issues to your question
    1. Seizures are listed in the drug literature for a possible side effect of albuterol.
    2. Seizures are not pseudo-seizures
    3. Allergic reactions are a mechanism of your immune response and not the central nervous system.
    4. It sounds as though she might have had pseudo-seizures, following a reaction to the albuterol. If she had seizure like tremors, if could have been from lack of oxygen (hypoxia).
    5. She does not have to have asthma to have an airway reaction

Still, it does sound like she had a reaction to the medication, which based upon the information you have provided, could have been avoided. If the treating physician was aware of the previous reaction prior to giving the breathing treatment, then the physician could have taken another rout to treat your daughter...(this is speculation)
