My daughter, age 29, recently had large bowel perforation and consequent infection. She is spina bifida at T7 level. She has been hospitalized for 8 days and source of problem has yet to be determined. She has had a conservative diet all her life. She had a cecostomy performed 10 years ago and has had bowel maintenance via fleet enemas every other day through the cecostomy. This has worked great. Any suggestions of possible cause/effect of perforation or reports of high incidence in spina bifida greatly appreciated.
