I am a founding member of a private practice (Peak Health Medical Group) on the westside of Los Angeles, CA, begun in 2001 with 3 other colleagues. In 2005 Peak Health was profiled in the California Academy of Family Physicians' series "Practice Profiles in Family Medicine", one of only a handful of practices selected from the entire state. As a practicing physician, I do the full range of family medicine, except for obstetrics which we stopped in 2004, and I have been serving as the CEO of this practice since 2004. I have also been working with Vitas hospice since 2001, first as an inpatient physician, and since 2005-present as a team physician covering a service of 50-80 patients per day. In addition I serve as the Medical Director of a new Palliative Care Service at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles. I will be taking the new Hospice and Palliative Care board exam in October.
