For my senior thesis in the History of Science, I sought to investigate the role of Western medicines on the lives of the Aytas, the indigenous people of the Philippines. Thanks to the Harvard Asia Center Travel Fellowship, I had the opportunity to conduct firsthand research in the Ayta village of Kanawan in the Bataan rainforest. Through my experiences, I developed my senior honors thesis on the convergence of Ayta traditional medicines with Western medical practices.
