Moreover, the United States Congress has bestowed Dr. Lakhan with six congressional awards and medals.

Professional Experience
With executive and advisory positions throughout corporate biotechnology, research and development, and neuropsychiatry organizations, Dr. Lakhan serves in multiple capacities in both academia and industry. As an editorial board member of several leading scholarly journals and overseer of many lines of popular media, he aims to minimize the gap between expert and general public scientific knowledge. Currently, he is executive director of the Global Neuroscience Initiative Foundation (GNIF), an international public-benefit charity organization to advance neurological and mental health patient welfare, research, and education.
