An older neurologist trained before the CT era. It is my belief that a careful history and physical allow a reasonabley secure diagnosis of the origin of musculoskeletal pain, especially low back pain, when MRI/Electrodiagnostic examinations fail because of lack of specificity. I have considrable experience with prescribing opioids for chronic non-malignant pain. My experience isn't always favorable. It is hard to do this well.
