About me
A veteran journalist and longtime mental health advocate, I have written a guide book for adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and their family members: "Is It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? Stopping the Roller Coaster When Someone You Love Has Attention Deficit Disorder." Recipient of four national book awards, the book is endorsed by leading psychologists and psychiatrists in the field, and has been generously received by adults with ADHD as well as their partners, parents, therapists, and physicians. You can read more about it at Amazon.com (http://tinyurl.com/m38v4v) or at the book's website: http://www.ADHDRollerCoaster.com
Why I participate in Medpedia
After ten years as an advocate in the ADHD community, I've learned that it's important to educate and empower patients. Only then can they become the smartest healthcare consumers. If you don't understand the basics of effective treatment (for ADHD or any other condition), it's difficult to select a competent healthcare provider and then work as a team. I hope that MedPedia provides the necessary nexus of consumers and care providers that improves the standard of care.
