As an experienced integrative medicine clinician and senior health and wellness industry executive, Bradly Jacobs MD MPH has broad-based experience in healthcare services and technology in academic, consulting, start-up and corporate settings. Dr. Jacobs has developed a national reputation for developing innovative clinical models by incorporating Health 2.0 and health information technology, integrative medicine, and personalized medicine into both direct to consumer and employer health environments. Most recently, Dr Jacobs was Senior Medical Director for Revolution Health Networks (RHN), a company dedicated to empowering consumers to live healthier lives through providing on-line access to credible health information, interactive tools, and a community of experts and fellow consumers. RHN ranked among the top 3 health destinations on the internet with over 12 million monthly unique visitors and almost 1 billion quarterly page views prior to merging with Waterfront Media’s “EverydayHealth”. His responsibilities included clinical strategic development, clinical director of RH.com product innovation, chief architect of the Medicine ChestTM and Dietary Supplement Recommendation tools, management of the integrative medicine expert consultant team, creative content generation, and spokesperson for major strategic marketing and public relations campaigns. Dr. Jacobs’ role as chief architect of Medicine ChestTM resulted in the creation of the first evidence-based integrative medicine decision support tool in the marketplace and the most successful web-based application in the RH.com product portfolio with 450,000 unique visits per month. Prior to joining Revolution, Dr. Jacobs was the founding Medical Director of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Osher Center for Integrative Medicine where he held the Osher Foundation Endowed Chair and was full-time faculty from 1997-2006. He was also co-founder and Director of 1747 Inc.- chosen as Fortune Magazine’s ‘coolest biotech company” in 2002, a clinical research organization start-up that developed proprietary software technology enabling clients to conduct direct to participant clinical trials entirely over the internet. In addition to a national reputation for developing innovative models for healthcare delivery, Dr. Jacobs lectures on Integrative Medicine, Health 2.0 and Health Information Technology, Work/Life Balance, Stress Management, and on his 5 Principles of Healthy Living. He leads workshops on these topics for a wide-range of audiences including Oprah Magazine’s annual “O You!” event, corporate executives at Gap Inc. and Harvard Business School Executive Education, as well as academic medical centers and government institutions. He has published book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and is currently senior editor of the first American College of Physicians’ (ACP) textbook on Complementary and Alternative Medicine entitled, “The ACP Evidence-Based Guide to Complementary and Alternative Medicine” (December 2008). He has appeared on television, radio and newspapers related to this work, and was named the “Top 20 under 40” years old by 7 x 7 magazine. Bradly is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, and completed his residency and clinical research fellowship at UCSF. He holds a Master’s degree of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from UC-Berkeley. Dr. Jacobs is trained in Internal Medicine and has studied acupuncture, nutrition, herbal medicine, stress management, yoga and martial arts.
