Professional summary

I am a 3rd year PharmD candidate with a prospective graduation year of 2010. Currently, students in all the professional doctoral programs make heavy use of Wikipedia as a general reference despite warnings to avoid it, and anything that can assist practitioners and students in finding succinct, accurate general information prior to more formal consultation of literature would be of great benefit. Patients currently have more contact with their pharmacist than any other allied health professional, and anything targeted at drug education would greatly benefit from input from pharmacists. I currently am employed as a pharmacy extern by the University of Illinois Medical Center in the inpatient pharmacy, the North Chicago VA in the mental health clinic, and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. It will be several years until I have the clinical experience to be an active contributor, but I will undoubtedly make extensive use of this resource once it emerges from beta, and I have accumulated a fair amount of exposure to issues surrounding actual patients’ views on medication use and illness.
